12 Days of Christmas Crafting - Day 2 Cookies in a Jar

Cookies in a jar are a really fun project you can do with you kids, and are really fun to make. You can do almost anything in a jar and it's super fun and exciting. You can use these as a gift for co-workers, family, friends & neighbours. They also make a fun hostess gift too when your going to a party. These are fun and rather inexpensive to make. Most of the ingredients should already be in your pantry. If you don't have canning jars I bet your grandma does raid her kitchen cupboards and the Christmas fabric was leftover from aprons that I made last year for Coconuts so this project didn't cost me anything to make.

Chocolate Pecan Chewies Cookies

3/4 Cup all purpose flour
1/2 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup cocoa powder (clean inside of jar with a paper towel after this layer)
2 Tbsp + 2 Tsp brown sugar
1 Cup chopped pecan
2 Tbsp + 2 Tsp brown sugar
1/2 Cup sugar
3/4 Cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda

Layer the ingredients in the order given into a wide mouth 1 quart canning jar. Pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredient.

I put some leftover Christmas fabric around the lid with a little name tag that I made. It was such a quick and easy recipe.
Your also going to want to print off the recipe below or hand write it onto your own recipe card. These are the remaining ingredients that will be necessary for them to actually make the cookies.

Now I think it's time for you to go raid your grandma's cupboards!
